The Minnesota Chapter of the RMA congratulates Macalester and MN State Mankato who both competed in our inaugural Student Credit Competition in April of 2024. It was inspiring to see these students at work.  The competition was very close!

The RMA MN Chapter is excited to announce our second annual Student Credit Analysis Competition to take place on April 12, 2025 at Sunrise Banks (9am - 1pm).  More information will be available soon.

The goal of the competition is to provide an opportunity for business school students to network with industry leaders while gaining insight into credit risk management and its many facets.

The competition will challenge analytical, business education and presentation skills with an exercise in identifying and mitigating the credit risks banks face when lending to a small business. Teams consisting of 3 - 5 members will participate in a case study requiring them to analyze complex information and recommend an appropriate structure for approval of a small business loan request. To assist in the analysis and preparation, we are excited to pair teams up with a mentor from a local bank to offer insight and guidance. Our goal is to hold the final presentations in person this year. Representatives from our competition sponsor firms are planning to be onsite in the form of a mini job fair. We encourage students to bring their resumes and network!

The RMA, with the support of the Competition Sponsors shown below, plans to allocate at least $4,000 in prizes to be awarded to the top teams. The more teams that participate, the larger the prize pool.

Eligibility: Senior, Junior, and Sophomore level Business/Finance Majors currently attending a participating University.
