Ryan Nelson is a Vice President and Senior Risk Manager specializing in Operational Risk at U.S. Bank. He started his career in branch banking at TCF and moved to U.S. Bank as a personal banking and branch manager. He has 25+ years of experience in banking, 16 of those in risk management.

He has been involved in the Risk Management Association since 2009. He was secretary for the 2021/2022 term and was Vice President and co-chaired the Programming Committee the following term. He was president for the 2023/2024 term. Ryan will continue to serve on the Programming, and will join the affiliation committee this term.

Ryan has a bachelor’s degree in finance and economics from the University of Wisconsin-Superior. He is married to Dana, and has two daughters, Eve -age 10 and Zoey -age 8. Ryan enjoys golfing, going to Twins games and traveling.
