On Wednesday, March 26, 2014 141 bankers, accountants, attorneys, and other finance professionals gathered for the RMA Minnesota Chapter’s Chapter Luncheon. The speaker was Mr. Ron Feldman from The Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis.
Mr. Feldman’s presentation covered two areas. The first part of his presentation gave an overview of the historical and forecasted profitability, loan growth and problem loans of banks both in Greater Minnesota and the Twin Cities markets. The second area he presented on was the historical consolidation of community banks throughout Minnesota. There is a link below to the Fed paper that was the basis of this section of his talk. During a question about the increased regulatory burden in recent years, Mr. Feldman mentioned that the Fed has created a calculator on its website to help estimate the cost of the new regulations.
