MINNESOTA CHAPTER AFFILIATION

As an individual affiliate in the Minnesota Chapter of the Risk Management Association, you can take advantage of these benefits:

Minnesota Chapter affiliation is individual and benefits are not transferable.
The affiliation fee for the full 2020/2021 term is $160 for metro members and $80 for non-metro members.

  • Full Term: September 1, 2020 - August 31, 2021. 
  • Mid-Term: Applications received after January 1, 2021 are one-half the assessed amount.

Metro Affiliation

Includes the following counties, Anoka, Carver,
Chisago, Dakota, Hennepin, Isanti, Ramsey, Scott, Sherburne, Washington and Wright in Minnesota; Pierce and St. Croix in Wisconsin.

Non-Metro Affiliation

All other counties are considered non-metro.

National membership (and benefits) in the Risk Management Association is completely separate from Minnesota Chapter Affiliation.

Membership types at the National level are based on your role and your institution’s affiliation with RMA.  Click below to find the membership type that is right for you and join today.  Being a member of RMA is being a part of a community of like-minded professionals. It's having a network to turn to through every stage of your career when you have a question or need advice, and knowing you have access to different perspectives right at your fingertips.

 

Institutional Membership

For those financial institutions, private and governmental, active in lending, in the professional identification and management of credit and related risks, in other aspects of risk management, and in providing related financial services.


Associate Membership

For those persons whose institution is a member and want to join. For a definition of "institution", see the Institutional Application" above.


Professional Membership

For those in organization and entities not eligible to be Institution Members but are regularly involved in credit risk identification and management for their own account (such as insurance companies and securities broker-dealers) and professional or service organizations or firms that directly assist financial institutions in carrying out their credit-related mission (such as accounting firms, law firms, and similar consultants).


Academic Membership

Academic Representatives shall be those persons who meet all requirements set by the RMA Board of Directors for such membership, who are employed by organizations and entities not eligible to be Institutional Members but are regularly involved in instructing and advising on the mitigation of credit, operational, and market risk for their own institution's curriculum or are directly assisting financial institutions in carrying out their risk-related mission. (Examples include professors, deans, and teaching assistants.) Academic Representatives may participate in RMA activities appropriate to their interest and expertise.


Student Membership

A candidate for Student membership must be a full-time student (not currently employed full time) and be enrolled within a major associated with risk management (business management, administration, finance or accounting). Undergraduate freshmen are excluded from membership. All other undergraduate and graduate-level students are eligible.
